Michela is an upcoming artist you should definitely keep an eye and ear out for.

I first heard of Michela when she released a beautiful rendition of The Beatles’ ‘Something’

With her velvety voice, she made her debut earlier this summer with the super catchy tune ‘In your head’ which kept going strong on the local charts until a few weeks ago.

You may have also seen Michela as one of the main parts in this year’s KSU musical adaptation of ‘Hairspray’ and most recently as the leading lady Scaramouche in the hit musical ‘We Will Rock You’ which was held at the MCC 2 weeks ago. The girl is seriously a triple threat and I have no doubt we will be hearing great things from her.

Today Michela just dropped her new single ‘Back to the river’ which is a track written by Michela herself in collaboration with Muxu and Peter Borg, Keys by Edward Abela and Aleandro Spiteri Monsigneur,Drums and bass by Peter Borg. The Song was produced and mixed by Peter Borg at Railway Studios and Mastered by Matt Hyde (UK).

This is truly a dream team and the final product shows what this collaboration can deliver; which is a catchy melody backed up by piano notes which get your emotions in line with the heartfelt and relatable lyrics (not the cheesy kind) and a drum and bass line which will have you tapping your feet instantly.

Have a listen if you haven’t already and make sure to add it to your playlists. Mark my words this will make it into the lists for 2019’s top local releases.

Michela has also decided to give all proceeds from single sales to Jays of Sunshine who are the people who make dreams come true for children and young people at the Rainbow Ward at Mater Dei. 🌈❤️
