The low down on the Audi Malta Music Awards 2020

Last Saturday the Audi Malta Music Awards made a comeback after a 5 year hiatus and celebrated it’s 25th anniversary at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

Hosted by Dorian Cassar ,the night was filled with music from the amazing talent this island has to offer. It was great to see artists being recognised for all the hard work and passion they put into their craft.

Artists performing on the night were Ira Losco ft. Michela, Emma Muscat, Gaia Cauchi, Owen Leuellen, Aidan, Red Electrick, Amber , Matthew James, Toby, Lapes ft Petra, Airport Impressions, The New Victorians and F.A.I.T.H  closed off the show with their rendition of Freddie Portelli’s ‘Viva Malta’. They all brought their A-game and showed what the local music scene has to offer.

The show was organised by Mega Music Malta, in collaboration with PBS along with Magic Malta 91.7 and will be aired in the coming weeks so make sure to keep an eye on the official FB page .

There were a total of 18 awards and here are the winners;


Best Alternative: The Ranch


Aġenzija Żgħażagħ Award: Maria Debono


International Achievement Award: Emma Muscat


Best Hip Hop / R n’ B: Eddie Fresco


Best Song in Maltese: “Iljuni fis-Silġ”, The Travellers


Best Metal: Beheaded


Career in Music Recognition: Toni Sant


Best Solo: Ira Losco


Lifetime Achievement Award: The Greenfields


Best Video: Gordon Bonello for ‘Chameleon’ – Michela


Best Songwriter: Corazon


Career in Music Recognition 2: Ray Mifsud Bonnici


Best Dance: Micimago


Best Album in Maltese: “Qalu li Raw”, Nadine Axisa


Breakthrough Artist Award: Michela


Best Album: Red Electrick –  Tragic Optimistic


Best Song (People’s Choice): “Iljuni fis-Silġ”, The Travellers


Best Band: Red Electrick
